Manager, Safety and Wellbeing
Renewal SA would like to welcome a well-rounded senior safety professional to our team.
This is not a typical safety role. We don’t have a large workforce or directly engage in physically high-risk work. However, we do have a strong focus on having safety at the heart of everything we do, for our teams, our external partners, and for our communities.
We have a vision of delivering collaborative, best-practice safety leadership within our business and with our partners.
Who we are looking for
As a highly experienced safety professional, you understand that strong safety practice does not happen through the hard enforcement of policies and rules. You appreciate that a positive culture is the greatest influencer of safe practice, and you revel in the role of supporter, educator and culture builder.
Working as a key part of the People and Culture Team, you will take the lead role in shaping and embedding Renewal SA’s safety practices. Some of the key focus areas will include:
- Identifying and addressing key safety risks, including our contractor management arrangements;
- Working with external partners and contractors to set and monitor best-practice safety across all of our key projects;
- Leading safety committees within Renewal SA to ensure that safety and wellbeing remain areas of focus at all levels;
- Working in partnership with the People & Culture team to continue to grow a culture of safety, wellbeing and development.
Your significant experience in leading safety initiatives will see you act as a credible leader in the field. You will feel comfortable working in partnership with senior safety leaders from partner organisations in construction and civil contracting, as well as providing advice to our Executive team, and working hand in hand with our project delivery teams.
You will also have the opportunity to lead or contribute to a range of other employee wellbeing initiatives. Your desire to influence and work as part of a team to continually improve our employee practices and culture will go a long way to success in this role.
Renewal SA exists to improve the lives of South Australians now and into the future by leading, supporting and driving investment and growth through property and projects. Our desire is for South Australia to have a strong economy and be a great place to live; and we believe property and development projects are key contributors to ensuring this is a reality.
We are delivering some of the state’s largest urban development projects such as the transformation of the former Royal Adelaide Hospital site to Lot Fourteen, a global innovation precinct; Bowden, an inner-city former industrial site that is fast becoming a highly sought-after residential and entertainment precinct; the award-winning Tonsley Innovation District of a former car factory site; the revitalisation of Port Adelaide into a thriving maritime precinct; and the rejuvenation of the historic Adelaide Railway Station.
