Tradesman building houses at Bowden

Partnerships are central to our success.

In order to see our state succeed, we will collaborate and partner with the private development and investment sectors, community, and all levels of government and industry.

We recognise the value that collaboration can bring and believe that together, we can achieve great outcomes for South Australia.

Case studies

Nightingale Bowden

Renewal SA and SA Housing Authority partnered with not-for-profit housing provider Housing Choices South Australia and award-winning, Melbourne-based housing innovator, Nightingale Housing, to deliver up to 34 affordable apartments and in excess of 200m2 of ground floor retail space within the Bowden project.

Unparalleled levels of environmental sustainability and housing affordability were achieved through an innovative partnership between government and the private and not-for-profit sectors.

In a South Australian first, the new Nightingale Bowden apartments offer carbon-neutral housing at the affordable end of the market and boast a minimum 5 Star Green Star and 7.5 Nationwide House Energy (NatHERS) ratings.

The building design feature attributes not typically seen in affordable housing developments, such as shared rooftop spaces, productive gardens, solar power and rainwater harvesting.

The apartment building encourages a strong sense of community and wellbeing through a number of contemporary, communal spaces and indoor Indigenous plantings.

Each apartment has ample bike space and access to shared vehicles, enabling transport choice while notably reducing the reliance on vehicles and further boosting Nightingale Bowden’s enviable sustainability credentials.

Lightsview

Our joint venture with Peet Group (formally CIC Australia) at Lightsview is a multi-award winning master planned development situated eight kilometres from Adelaide's CBD.

Lightsview received both the coveted President’s Award and Best Master Planned Development in Australia 2014 in the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s National Awards.

A key innovation at Lightsview is the introduction of zoning to allow small-lot, higher-density residential development. Because of this, Lightsview provides the widest range of housing and land options of any Adelaide suburb. The guiding design principles at Lightsview also require homes to be oriented for maximum winter warmth and summer shade.
