About the project

The City of Onkaparinga has a newly named suburb called Onkaparinga Heights.

This 68-hectare parcel of land sits within the boundary of Main South Road and Piggott Range Road and has been designated a master-planned neighbourhood zone. Previously, this area formed the southern end of the suburb of Hackham.

Onkaparinga Heights will be master-planned to deliver a diverse range of housing options.

Renewal SA will seek innovative partners with the experience and vision to master plan a well-connected and serviced community showcasing industry-leading development; reflecting design sustainability principles and integrating with the surrounding neighbourhood.

Upon completion, Onkaparinga Heights is anticipated to provide up to 1,000 new homes, with at least 20% designated as affordable housing. An additional 1,000 homes will be developed on the adjacent land by a private developer.

Onkaparinga Heights reflects the state government’s commitment to address the housing supply issue, focus on affordable housing and respond to projected population growth across Adelaide’s southern suburbs.
