Aerial view of Onkaparinga Heights land parcel

A significant milestone has been reached at the Onkaparinga Heights, with infrastructure deeds signed for the southern suburbs development.

This allows important planning, engineering and land division work to kick off before earthworks, road network, water, wastewater and stormwater works begin later this year. This could enable construction on the new homes to begin as early as 2026.

At least 2000 new homes have been earmarked for the southern suburbs greenfield development, located at the end of the Southern Expressway.

A 68-hectare parcel of land owned by Renewal SA could deliver up to 1,000 new homes, with a minimum of 20 per cent affordable housing, while an additional 1,000 homes will be developed on adjacent land by a private developer.

The hillside location offers sweeping views across to the ocean and down towards the Onkaparinga River.

It is positioned at the gateway to the world-renowned McLaren Vale wine region and Fleurieu Peninsula, while also being close to schools, shops, public transport and the centre of Noarlunga.

It is also close to key transit connections including the Southern Expressway for easy access to the city and the Seaford Meadows Train Station on the Seaford rail line.

Renewal SA proposes to bring the Onkaparinga Heights development opportunity to market by the middle of this year and will be seeking an innovative development partner with the experience and expertise to create a high-quality, sustainable, master-planned development that celebrates the region’s definitive character.
