We’re looking for an experienced media and communications professional to join our highly experienced and high performing team.

As a media specialist, you will develop and deliver comprehensive public relations and media strategies and plans. The role involves providing strategic advice and guidance on external media and communication to stakeholders, contributing to the success of marketing and communications plans while also enhancing the organisation’s brand and reputation.

You will be responsible for:

• Developing, executing and managing media and communication strategies that include communicating across digital platforms and social media, to enhance Renewal SA’s online presence and engage target audiences.
• Generating compelling content, such as press releases, media statements, and articles, across various communication mediums, maintaining consistent and impactful messaging.
• Providing expert guidance to executives and senior leaders on media opportunities, risk and issues management, and project communication.
• Monitoring and reporting on media coverage, public sentiment, and emerging issues to provide evidence-based insights for decision-making.

• Cultivating and nurturing key media relationships to facilitate effective media outcomes and creative publicity opportunities.

We are seeking a candidate with proven experience in developing and executing media and communication strategies across various platforms, including digital and social media. Our ideal candidate will have strong writing skills and demonstrated experience in creating compelling content and storytelling. Strategic thinking and ability to foster effective relationships to gather information and guide others on media opportunities, risk management and project communication are essential.

Additionally, you will have exceptional organisational skills to be able to manage multiple priorities and sometimes short deadlines along with day-to-day monitoring of media coverage and sharing of information to provide evidence-based insights for decision-making.

Tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline, along with experience in planning, drafting, editing, and proofreading information to publication standard, will be highly regarded.
