Last Friday, 8th of May, we celebrated the graduation of the participants of the Community Garden Live Training Site Program who have completed Stage I of the Park Terrace Community Garden.

Renewal SA is delivered the Works Program’s Community Garden Live Training Site program at Bowden in partnership with Civil Train SA, and is funded through the Government of South Australia’s WorkReady Jobs First initiative.

A group of 16 enthusiastic students have gained their Certificate II in Civil Construction and Work Safely in the Construction Industry White Card, amongst wider experience.

They learned some great hands on skills whilst contributing to the local community. The group were motivated and eager throughout the six week program and were a pleasure to see on the project each day.

As a result of the program, eight of the 16 students have secured further employment. This has been a fantastic result for both the students and the Works Program as a whole.
