The development’s green light marks an exciting and important milestone in the reinvigoration of Port Adelaide and unlocking the waterfront dock area, making way for 750 new homes and generating in excess of $200 million in private investment.

Starfish Developments Managing Director Damon Nagel said, “Although the SCAP process has been lengthy, we are delighted with the outcome. It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with Renewal SA, who has been supportive at every step, including coordinating links with the community.”

“We’re really looking forward to getting started now on the built form, which will bring together contemporary design inspired by the local history and unique heritage of the Port,” he said.

The masterplan includes townhouses, apartments, pedestrian walkways and parks with abundant open space, communal garden and waterfront access.

As part of the plans, the old Radio Shack building will be converted into a temporary display centre, and later this year, Starfish Developments are set to release the townhouses and apartments to the market.

Remediation and early earthworks have already commenced at the site, and are on track to be completed by the end of the year.

Work on roads and other infrastructure is expected to kick off in the first quarter of next year, before commencement of construction on the townhouses in the second quarter.
