Norwood Green Project Director, Daniel De Conno said this is a significant milestone in unlocking a former industrial pocket to make way for new residential and mixed-use development.
“This new development is a rare offering in Adelaide’s inner east to generate significant private sector investment, generate jobs for the local economy and provide new high quality homes for South Australians,” Mr De Conno said.
The former industrial site at 76 Magill Road, Norwood, will be transformed into a new meeting place in the inner east through the Norwood Green development project.
Mr De Conno said the Norwood Green development will be tailor made for people who want to live close to the heart of Norwood and the city of Adelaide.
“The new development will feature townhouses and apartments together with a new ALDI Supermarket and a number of smaller retail tenancies, all within walking distance of Norwood’s finest eateries and pubs,” Mr De Conno said.
“A feature of the project is the central park and piazza area, which will form a new meeting place, not only for Norwood Green residents, but also for the surrounding community.”
“There will also be ample parking for residents and visitors by virtue of a full basement across the apartment building. With the development’s location on the doorstep of the East End and Kent Town, it is well suited to explore the ever expanding neighbouring food culture.”
The Norwood Green sales centre is under construction at the site, and is set to be open to the public in the coming months.
The site is being redeveloped by experienced retailers and developers, Aldi, Buildtec and Catcorp.
