A state-of-the-art building designed to suit the needs of defence, space, and hi-tech, businesses and education and research organisations will be built at Lot Fourteen.

The Entrepreneur and Innovation Centre (EIC) will consist of commercial, education, research and networking spaces, where entrepreneurship and innovation can thrive. The 16-level, 35,000 square metre building will be central to the precinct and home to a flexible, campus-style Innovation Hub.

Lot Fourteen is backed by the South Australian and Australian governments and is a key focus of the $551 million Adelaide City Deal to provide a springboard for innovation and industry.

The Australian Government has committed up to $20 million in capital towards the establishment of the Innovation Hub on the first and ground floors of the EIC through the Adelaide City Deal.

Lot Fourteen State Project Lead Diane Dixon said the EIC would become the centrepiece of the precinct and a beacon for sustainable design and innovation.

“The EIC will be a powerful generator of jobs,” she said. “This year the number of people doing business, working, researching and studying on site is set to reach 1000. High-growth industries are taking an increasing interest in the platform Lot Fourteen provides and we are continuing to capitalise on that opportunity with the EIC.”

Early site works and excavation have started, and the building is scheduled for completion in late 2023.

Lot Fourteen, the former Royal Adelaide Hospital site, is being transformed into a global precinct that brings together South Australia’s leading abilities in space, defence, hi-tech and entrepreneurship. We are pleased to be able to share that the development application for the Lot Fourteen EIC has been approved by the State Commission Assessment Panel (SCAP).
