The state government, in conjunction with the City of Salisbury, is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from the private sector for the development of a 25,500 square metre site adjacent to the Mawson Lakes train and bus interchange.

The site is already an important community asset that provides essential public transport options and associated car parking for the community. Private sector investment is sought in order to provide additional amenity that will create further community activity at Mawson Lakes and result in a positive impact on local businesses.

Renewal SA Project Director, Jason Rollison said the EOI will facilitate private sector delivery of a high-quality, community-focused development, with the potential for enhanced ‘park and ride’ facilities to support increased public transport use in the area.

“The state government is keen to receive innovative development proposals that create commercial value whilst further improving amenities, safety and security for local residents and support day to day operations of the transport interchange.”

City of Salisbury Mayor Gillian Aldridge said that the EOI is an important step in completing the vision for the Mawson Lakes development.

“Mawson Lakes has evolved into a welcoming community and a wonderful place to live, work and study, and the completion of the Mawson Interchange precinct in line with the original vision and consideration of opportunities arising from the current infrastructure facilities will further enhance the area,” Ms Aldridge said.

“Council is very excited to be part of the EOI process and is looking forward to receiving proposals that align with the vision and bring fresh, innovative thinking to one of the premier development opportunities in Mawson Lakes.”

EOI Process

Renewal SA has appointed sales agency Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) to manage the EOI process, which closes 2.00pm on Friday 14 August 2020.

The state government, in consultation with the City of Salisbury, will evaluate development proposals.

The operation of the Mawson Lakes Interchange, including existing commuter car parking, will not be affected during the EOI campaign.
