Crowds of people buying and enjoying food from food trucks at the Winter Village.

Following the huge success of Renewal SA’s 2015 and 2016 winter activations, which attracted more than 165,000 people to the Adelaide Riverbank, an invitation has been released to curate and deliver a northern hemisphere festive inspired ‘winter village’ during the mid-year school break, from Thursday 6 July to Sunday 23 July 2017.

Operators are encouraged to submit creative and innovative ideas to produce a world-class winter destination that will bring locals and visitors into in the city during the shorter days and cooler nights.

The assessment panel will be looking for submissions that deliver a festive ‘winter village’, with food vendors serving comforting winter treats, après ski styled bars pouring hot seasonal favourites and a Christmas-inspired marketplace supporting locally made artists and their crafts.

The Riverbank Authority, via Renewal SA, will work closely with the preferred proponent to again deliver an outdoor ice-rink plus a complementary program of live shows and performances offering fun activities for the young and old at heart.
