A basement rehearsal space, a performing arts company planning a piece of public art and a community café supporting disadvantaged people will all receive City Makers funds.

City Makers grants help people with innovative ideas to deliver programs, projects, events and small venues that bring about social and economic returns to Adelaide. The grants awarded in round one of the program will go to fifteen entrepreneurs, community groups and artists working on projects to enhance the vibrancy of our CBD.

City Makers grants to assist with the costs of building compliance for small venues and other related projects are awarded to:

  • Living Arts
  • Format Collective
  • Basem3nt
  • Nola Bar
  • Willams Burton P/L
  • Conservation Council SA

Grants to support place making projects are awarded to:

  • Windmill Theatre
  • Market Kitchen
  • East End Coordination Group
  • Migrant Resource Centre of SA
  • Contemporary Art Centre of SA
  • SALA
  • Surrender
  • Fork on the Road
  • Act Now Theatre

A second round of City Makers grants will open later in 2015.
