The bustling Bowden community will continue to grow, with demolition works clearing the way for 36 brand new apartments.
The knocking down of a former V2 gymnasium near the centre of the Bowden precinct last week will shortly lead to nine floors of one, two, three bed and studio apartments on the site.
“We’ll start doing construction early works in October and residents will move in early 2026,” said Daniel Harris whose Adelaide based firm Otello is developing the Muse apartment block which has just five apartments left for sale.
As well as high end living via the Studio Nine designed development, Muse will offer a slew of food and beverage offerings over its mezzanine floor onsite courtesy of The Big Easy Group which is well known for the Stag public house and restaurant Anchovy Bandit.
Located northwest of Adelaide CBD near the picturesque parklands and the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Bowden stands as a testament to sustainable urban development, offering stylish homes that seamlessly integrate eco-friendly design principles.
Renewal SA took on the site in 2008, developing it into a multi-residential master planned community of apartments and townhouses.
Mr Harris said Bowden, which is just 2.5 kilometres from the Adelaide CBD, was fast becoming an ever more desirable place to live said Mr Harris. Much of its 16.3 hectares have been built, or are being built, upon and its Plant 3 and 4 are becoming trailblazers for its food, drink and socialising possibilities.
“There are bars, public transport, walking and biking trails,” Mr Harris said. “Our buyers have really been drawn to the amenity of the precinct and there is more acceptance of medium density living.”
Affordable housing – six of the Muse apartments have been offered under this banner - is playing its part too in strengthening home ownership and fostering a sense of community.
“It does give people an opportunity to enter the market at entry level and it’s been fantastic to see a number of first home buyers,” Mr Harris said.
