SA’s first ever qualified female stonemason, Bianca Taylor, once again scaled new heights when she came runner-up as Apprentice of the Year at the national Australian Training awards in Canberra.
Bianca who is just 20-years-old, discovered a stonemasonry career via the Renewal SA Works Program. Earlier this year Bianca, partly sponsored by the Renewal SA Works Program for whom she is now a very proud ambassador, spent time working on England’s Exeter cathedral as part of an exchange program run in tandem with her training provider FCTA-Building Careers
To add to the evening’s success, FCTA also scooped a major award.
The highly specialised Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that is the only provider of nationally recognised training in heritage trade skills in Australia, claimed the gold award as the Small Training Provider of the Year.
Many congratulations to Bianca and FCTA and its CE Trisch Baff who has partnered with the Renewal SA Works Program on many initiatives.
