Renewal SA’s ambitious sustainability targets have been bolstered, with two of its Technology Park buildings receiving enhanced NABERS (National Australian Built Environment Rating System) ratings during the latest round of accreditation.

Endeavour House, on Fourth Ave at Mawson Lakes, achieved a 5-star NABERS rating for the first time – up from 4.5 stars last year.

Nearby Innovation House jumped an entire star rating, up from 3.0 stars to 4.0 stars.

Energy saving initiatives across both buildings included the introduction of LED lights in common areas, carparks and tenancies, the installation of solar panels connected to battery storage systems and adjustments to building management systems to optimise heating, cooling, and lighting during peak and non-peak periods.

"Small adjustments can make a big impact, and we’ve been working hard to fine tune our base building systems and look for efficiencies at both Endeavour House and Innovation House, which are older buildings," Renewal SA General Manager of Project Delivery and Property Todd Perry said.

“We are incredibly proud that these changes have delivered immediate improvements in the annual star ratings of both buildings, given their design and age.

“It highlights our ongoing commitment to creating and managing environmentally sustainable projects and assists our push toward carbon neutrality as part of a wider State Government pledge to fully offset emissions by 2050.”
