A group of Year 12 SACE tourism students from Pulteney Grammar School recently visited the Riverbank Palais while studying significant Mad March events.

The group toured Parc Palais and the Riverbank Palais floating pontoon, hosted by Gill Minervini (Creative Director and curator) and Amanda Wheeler from the Adelaide Festival.

During the tour the students gained an understanding of Renewal SA and the Riverbank Authority’s roles in the Adelaide Festival event from People and Place General Manager, Georgina Vasilevski and Director Place, Rachel Walsh, including why we sponsored the Riverbank Palais to activate the River Torrens and transforming the Adelaide Riverbank into a world class destination.

While on site the group also visited the broader Adelaide Riverbank, viewing the communications and activation hoarding as part of the Festival Plaza redevelopment. On this tour they learned how important providing wayfinding for the area is and how our communication of the vision for this iconic redevelopment helps bring the community on board.

Throughout the semester the students will visit other Renewal SA projects as part of their study.
