The behind the scenes glimpse was a session presented through the UDIA Knowledge Series, a monthly members-only session to come together to learn and share important insights in urban development.

One of the most exciting urban renewal projects in Australia, Lot Fourteen is Adelaide’s neighbourhood designed to inspire ideas and change the game across entrepreneurship, innovation, and culture.

Members learnt about the Lot Fourteen Master Plan, adaptive re-use of the heritage and historic buildings, and the plans to achieve not only a 6 Star Green Star rating for every building on site but be the first project in the southern hemisphere to meet the WELL Community Standard.

Lot Fourteen is designed for people. There are over 250 tenants already on site and the neighbourhood’s tenant population continuing to grow with around 700 new tenants moving on site at the end of this year. The site has attracted a strong pipeline of talent and renowned institutions are moving to Adelaide’s new ideas neighbourhood.

Lot Fourteen is an important civic space, and a catalyst to support the state government’s growth agenda. Backed by the South Australian government as well as federal and local governments, Lot Fourteen is the centrepiece of the $550 million Adelaide City Deal investment.

When complete, more than 6,000 people will work at Lot Fourteen across space, defence, cyber security, artificial intelligence and creative industries plus 1,000 students and researchers will be exploring solutions to tomorrow’s problems.

Renewal SA is proud to sponsor the UDIA Knowledge Series to support the sharing of knowledge and ideas in the South Australian urban development industry.
