The proposed development at Regent Street, Melrose Park will contribute signficantly to the renewal of the area and will provide increased housing choices close to public transport and other services. The development is estimated to support some 43 jobs at the peak of construction and generate more than $8 million in private investment over the anticipated 18 month to 2 year construction period.
The project will deliver a diversity of affordable and market priced energy efficient housing in a high quality, contemporary well-designed precinct. The development proposes 21 two-storey townhouses and 1 three-storey building comprising 15 apartments overlooking the proposed Fig Tree park open space.
Junction Australia is a leading affordable housing provider, and will manage the redevelopment of the site.
In February 2018 Junction Australia and Renewal SA invited local residents to attend a community consultation session, to:
Gain information about the renewal of Melrose Park
View and discuss the redevelopment plans, including options for roadways
Meet with Junction Australia, Qattro Pty Ltd and Renewal SA team members
Provide comments on the proposed development scheme
This followed on from initial earlier engagement in November/December 2017.
All feedback received from the community has been compiled in the reports below, for consideration by the State Coordinator-General as part of the planning assessment process.
