Who we are looking for
TAFE SA, in association with the Department for Innovation and Skills, is looking for motivated and committed people from all over Adelaide who want to start a career as a painter and decorator for the Painting and Decorating Pre-employment program.
This program will provide the skills to prepare surfaces, apply paint by brush and roller and to use painting tools and equipment.
Participants in this eight-week program must:
- have steel-capped boots
- have a driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
- be physically fit.
Women and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
What you can achieve
Work experience placements during the program and employment opportunities for suitable program graduates.
Participants will study nationally accredited units from the Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (Partial) (CPC30611) qualification including:
- (CPCCOHS2001A) Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
- (CPCCPD3021A) Prepare surfaces for painting
- (CPCCPD3022A) Apply paint by brush and roller
- (CPCCWHS1001) Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
- (CPCCPD2012A) Use painting and decorating tools and equipment
- (CPCCCM2010B) Work safely at heights.

Participants will only be selected for the program after attending the Information and Selection Session.

Program details
When
Program hours: 8:30 am — 4:00 pm
Training runs from Mondays to Thursdays, from 14 September 2020 to 29 October 2020.
Work experience placements run from Mondays to Fridays, from 2 to 6 November 2020.
Where
Training is at the Tonsley TAFE SA campus, 1284 South Road, Tonsley.
Cost
$125 student co-contribution fee.
