Calling all community groups to share in $25,000
Playford Alive is calling for community groups to apply for a share in $25,000 from the Playford Alive Initiatives Fund, with submissions now open.
Renewal SA’s Acting Chief Executive, Mark Devine said the Playford Alive Initiatives Fund supports groups that make a positive difference to the lives of people in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.
“The funds can help turn good ideas into reality and benefit the local community,” Mr Devine said.
“Since the fund was established in 2009, over $870,000 has been provided to benefit the Playford Alive community.”
The Playford Alive Initiatives Fund helps organisations to grow through the work of the successful applicants and supports projects that make a positive contribution to the community.
The funding can be used to provide training and skills to those seeking opportunities in the local community and provide a better quality of life for this important part of Adelaide.
Playford Alive Initiatives Fund Chairman, Mayor Glenn Docherty said we have been able to support and strengthen community groups through a diverse range of projects.
“It is wonderful to see people actively participating, donating their time and skills and contributing to the goodwill of the community that makes Playford a wonderful place to live, work and play,” Mayor Docherty said.
“The Playford Alive Initiatives Fund has been providing funding to community groups and individuals, who are helping to deliver key projects that enhance the social, economic and environmental well-being of Playford Alive residents.”
“I welcome the twelfth round of applications, the Board is looking forward to receiving another lot of quality applications for a variety of projects that will benefit the Playford Alive community.”
In 2018, a total of $9,500 in funding was awarded to two local community groups, Playford Uniting Church and Northern Communities of Hope, for various community initiatives.

The submissions are open to individuals, groups or organisations who are based in or provide services to the Playford Alive project area (Smithfield Plains, Davoren Park, Munno Para, Andrews Farm and Eyre) and who are actively involved in giving back to this community.
